Who We Are

Who We Are

50 years of following Jesus at Western Washington University.

Campus Christian Fellowship has existed as a campus ministry at WWU ever since 1972 when a group of students started gathering weekly to worship Jesus and study Scripture together. Since then, we’ve grown as a ministry but we still meet together for Cores and Weekly Worship. We are a group of people who are seeking to follow Jesus, share our faith, and grow while in community with each other during our time in college and beyond.

Whether you have been following Jesus your whole life, or you’re curious about Christianity, CCF has a place for you. Bring your enthusiasm and your questions, your faith and your doubts, your gifts and your weaknesses, your dreams and your fears. Our community always has room, wherever you find yourself.

WHAT WE’RE ABOUT.

Disciples make disciples who makes disciples. In CCF you will gain skills and knowledge to both grow in your own faith and come alongside others to help them grow through one on one discipleship. Jesus told his disciples they were to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20), we hope all students in CCF will gain the skills and knowledge to do just that!

What does the Bible say about that? We believe our best source text for following Jesus is the Bible. We welcome your questions and thoughts and we’ll sit with you in Scripture as you ask them.

We rarely grow when we’re comfortable. In CCF you will have opportunities to do hard things. In the spaces outside of our comfort zones, we are given chances to rely more on God and less on our own power - causing growth in our personal character and faith in God.

Every student goes, gives, prays, and welcomes. While we have a team of Campus Pastors that help pastor our community, we wholeheartedly believe our campus ministry functions best when students are leading the charge in mission, investing, praying, and welcoming people of all backgrounds, faiths, and ethnicities.

FIVE-FOLD APPROACH.

We seek to introduce college students to an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ through this five-fold approach:

  1. Prayer: Communication with God.

  2. Worship: Expressions of thanks through word, music, and service.

  3. Fellowship: Community of students developing quality relationships.

  4. Discipleship: Learning about Jesus and following His example.

  5. Mission: Living a life that reflects our relationship with God in what we say and do.
